Per NFL rules, the Green Bay Packers are allowed to host up to 30 draft-eligible players (excluding “local” prospects, such as those in the UW system or nearby regional schools such as Northern Illinois) for in-person visits. The Journal Sentinel is tracking the visits and supplying profiles based on information from sources and published reports.

GREEN BAY – Middle Tennessee State safety Juwon Gaston’s testing numbers don’t jump out, his production isn’t spectacular and he played for an FBS school.

He isn’t going to get drafted.

But the Green Bay Packers thought enough of him to bring him in for a pre-draft visit. Gaston posted photos of his visit on his Instagram account. Packer Report confirmed that he made the visit.

Gaston played multiple positions for MTSU after transferring from Houston after his junior season. He played in nine games and started three, finishing with 39 tackles, three interceptions, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

During his two seasons at Houston, he played in 14 games, earning a redshirt exemption in 2024 due to playing in only four games. He started two games in ’23, and finished with 18 tackles and no interceptions.

He played at two junior colleges before enrolling at Houston.

The 5-10½, 198-pound Gaston ran a terrible 4.78-second 40-yard dash at his pro day, which might explain why the Packers wanted to meet with him. It’s possible he was injured at the April workout and they wanted to check in on where he is now.

Gaston had suffered an undisclosed injury during the season.

MTSU used Gaston to return kickoffs his senior season, which might have been something that attracted him to the Packers. He averaged 23 yards per return with a long of 43 yards. He also returned seven punts for 41 yards.
