The flaw in Odell Beckham Jr.'s potential Giants reunion in free agency originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Apparently, OBJ could return to the New York Giants.
That's what NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported about Odell Beckham Jr. with a surprising post on X on Monday.
Rapoport wrote that OBJ worked out for the Giants on Monday and that "a reunion seems possible."
There's a problem with this, though.

Is OBJ still good?
That's the problem: Beckham isn't particularly good anymore.
He also has struggled for a long time to stay healthy, which would be a lot more tolerable if he still got the job done on the field.
In the 2024 season in Miami, Beckham played nine games and caught nine passes for 55 yards.
He didn't play for anyone in 2025, serving a suspension for part of that season, too.
Beckham suited up in some flag football action this offseason, but that's not an indicator of his NFL readiness.
Is it worth having the attention on OBJ in an offense led by young QB Jaxson Dart if Beckham's role is only as a depth receiver? And if his role is more than a depth WR, that's a problem.
He used to be a star, of course. No one questions that.
He had 5,476 receiving yards in five seasons with the Giants on 390 catches with 44 touchdowns.
But as his career has moved on to the Rams, then Ravens, then Dolphins, it hasn't been a positive trend line.
Maybe Beckham has a bit of juice left. But he's just as likely to be ineffective and then get injured at this point, and that doesn't seem particularly worth it.
