Welcome to the Morning Commute

Today we’re talking about Mizzou Hoops

Mizzou Basketball’s transfer portal haul started off with the additions of Jaylen Carey, Jamier Jones, and Bryson Tiller. It’s a good start for Dennis Gates and the staff as they have landed multiple Top-50 ranked players in the portal.

Though with the departure of Jevon Porter — there’s more work to be done with three open roster spots available — and guard play is a question mark.

Sure, five-star Jason Crowe Jr. is coming in, but guard depth is always a necessity. Per reports, Mizzou is looking to address the guard position within the SEC.

LSU’s Jalen Reece is expected to visit Mizzou this week along with Texas A&M and Ohio State.

Reece is a former four-star, Top-100 recruit and ended his freshman season at LSU scoring in double figures in seven out of the last eight games.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M transfer Josh Holloway is expected to visit Mizzou today — with West Virginia, Memphis, and USC also in the mix.

Holloway’s production was limited in his junior season at Texas A&M, but he is coming off a strong performance in the Aggies’ 2nd round NCAA Tournament loss to Houston with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Per 247Sports, Missouri’s 2026 class ranks 6th overall — but they’re not done yet. Stay tuned to RockM+ for more of our coverage on hoops.
