Dezeen Showroom: molten aluminium is poured into hand-blown glass vessels to form 93, a lighting collection created by Canadian design brand Bocci.

Designed by Bocci co-founder Omer Arbel, the 93 lights can be used as suspended pendants, wall or ceiling sconces or table lamps, displayed independently or in clusters.

Each of the lights is crafted from a hand-blown glass vessel, into which molten aluminium is poured.

This process gives rise to a marble-like surface that is unique to each vessel and illuminated from within by a bulb.

"As the metal moves and cools, it leaves behind a suspended trace of its flow, each piece preserving a single, unrepeatable moment," said Bocci.

Every 93 light is hand-formed in Bocci's Vancouver studio with a diameter of 292 millimetres.

The wall and ceiling versions can be mounted on a white powder-coated or brass-finish base, while table lamps can be fitted with a dimming system and a black fabric cord.
