Seahawks reportedly looking to replace Kenneth Walker in draft after taking Chiefs deal originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Seattle Seahawks roster will look very different from a season ago, when they won a Super Bowl, but there's still a lot to like about what the organization has done in free agency and what it can do in the NFL Draft.
The Seahawks are in one of those positions where they can go out and make the necessary moves to improve this roster by replacing guys that they lost during the offseason, and there's reason to believe they'll do just that.
Whether they want to try to find a running back, help the secondary, or address a position they just think they need to improve, there are a wide range of places Seattle can take this.
“Coming off a championship season, picking 32nd and with just four picks total, this scenario seemed to have been designed in a lab for a John Schneider trade down. And maybe, just maybe, someone wants to come get Simpson at the bottom of the round (would Arizona want to leapfrog the Jets?).
“Regardless of how all that works out, Seattle will be on the lookout for guys to replace Kenneth Walker, Coby Bryant, Boye Mafe and Riq Woolen in the rotation at their respective positions. Should they get stuck at 32, Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price could be an interesting consideration for Schneider and Mike Macdonald, especially considering the drop-off at running back after he and Love come off the board,” Albert Breer wrote.
I wouldn't suggest taking a running back for the Seahawks too early. I understand the need to replace Kenneth Walker, but I also think this system is designed for running backs to be rather decent, as long as the options are at least suitable.
