Jared Bednar had thoughts about some of the calls against the Avalanche on Tuesday. The Flyers won again, pushing the Pittsburgh Penguins to the brink of elimination just three games into the series. Also, the two teams that the Avs could face in the second round have continued to exchange punches for three straight games. This last one went the distance and more.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — April 23.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Avalanche are on the road for the first time in the playoffs tonight as they look to build off a second consecutive 2-1 victory against the Los Angeles Kings.

In Game 2, they tied it late and won it OT, but they also dominated in scoring chances, high danger opportunities, expected goals, and pretty much any underlying metric. They were also called for two infractions that were quite questionable.
