Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach elected to add some beef to his team's defensive line in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

After trading up to the No. 6 overall selection to take LSU Tigers defensive back Mansoor Delane, Veach savvily sought a pass-rusher with Kansas City's No. 29 pick in Round 1.

When the Chiefs' time on the clock began, Veach moved to select Clemson Tigers defensive lineman Peter Woods, who was among the best players left on the board.

Star pass-rusher Chris Jones — a longtime cornerstone of Kansas City's defense — was quick to react to Veach's decision to pick Peters:

With Jones around to show Peters the ropes in Steve Spagnuolo's defense, Chiefs fans can look forward to seeing Kansas City's defensive line play with renewed vigor in 2026.

Stay tuned to see what Brett Veach and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid have to say about the team's decision to select Peters.
