After all the speculation around the Dallas Cowboys trading up, they did, in fact, trade up with the Miami Dolphins, moving up one spot to the 11th pick to get the player they wanted. That player just so happened to be safety Caleb Downs, someone many consider one of, if not the best player in this draft class. Dallas gave up their 12th overall pick, along with fifth-round picks 177 and 180, to get Downs.
Cowboys fans and the media reaction have been positive all-around. Downs was mocked to Dallas throughout by many draft analysts leading up to the draft. Until recently, when more and more mock drafts started showing Downs landing with the New York Giants. Leaving many Cowboys fans hoping the Downs fell to them at 12. The reaction to seeing Downs fall and be selected by Dallas has been amazing!
