The Auburn Tigers are in the running for one of the best cornerbacks in the 2027 recruiting class. While Auburn is not known as "DBU" like other schools, they have shown the ability to produce good players at the position.
Earlier in the week, 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson named Auburn as one of his top five schools, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. The other four schools named are LSU, Michigan, South Carolina, and Texas A&M.
The Tigers currently have just two commits to the 2027 class and rank No. 62 according to 247Sports. Dobson is scheduled to visit Auburn on May 29, and he is being recruited by DeMarcus Van Dyke. The Tigers currently have 10 cornerbacks on the roster, and zero commits to the position for the 2027 class. Overall, Dobson is rated as the No. 3 cornerback nationally and the No. 11 player. He is the top player in the state according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
He played his junior season of high school football at Fort Mill in South Carolina. There, he had four tackles, and he scored two touchdowns as a wide receiver on offense. He will play his senior season in North Carolina for Cornelius Hough. He did participate in the Under Armour All-American game and recorded an interception. He is a top-level athlete who also runs track.
