This simple Tombo Hanger, by Japanese studio Drill Design, perfectly captures the spirit of Enzo Mari's Autoprogettazione.

For the uninitiated, industrial designer Mari's book presented simple furniture designs that anyone could build for themselves using basic lumber. Drill's design seems to channel that, making no effort to hide the fasteners, leaving no mystery as to the construction.

The piece was designed for Ishinomaki Lab, the Japanese DIY-oriented furniture workshop.
