One of the best pass rushers in the 2027 recruiting class has named Auburn in their top five. Hayes Fawcett of Rivals reported on Tuesday that four-star EDGE James Pace has placed the Tigers in his favorite five schools. The other schools in the top five are Georgia, Maryland, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
For the Maryland native, it makes sense that the Terrapins are the only school in the top five outside of the SEC. Pace is a four-star rated prospect by most recruiting experts. According to the 247Sports composite, Pace is the No. 4 player in Maryland and No. 14 EDGE nationally. He had 14 sacks and 81 tackles last season for DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Maryland. Auburn offered Pace on March 13, and a commitment from him would really add to the Tigers' recent momentum in recruiting.
The 2027 recruiting class currently ranks at No. 45 nationally on 247Sports. The Tigers have picked up two commits in the past week, with four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook and three-star offensive lineman Jaylon Moore. Earlier in the week, four-star safety Jayden Aparicio-Bailey also announced the Tigers are in his top five teams. Auburn has picked up some real momentum in recruiting over the last week.
