Ronda Rouseyis reflecting on how much life has changed since her last fight.
For the first time in nearly a decade, the former UFC champion, 39, is preparing to return to the octagon since becoming a mom of two, proving she’s still one of the most powerful forces in combat sports. But as Rousey revealed in a recent interview, motherhood has completely reshaped her mindset.
In a Thursday, April 30, interview with Us Weekly, she told the outlet, “I have infinite energy for my kids and not as much for myself.” And she confided that becoming a mom has given her a deeper sense of purpose. “It’s so much easier to dig deep for your kids and your family.”
Rousey — who shares two young daughters, La’akea, 4, and Liko’ula, 15 months, with husband Travis Browne — said that, in spite of the decreased energy, her children have even become part of her training routine, often watching her practice from the sidelines.
How’s that juggling act going? “It’s definitely more fun because we’ve made having fun the priority, instead of just making it all about the result, experience be damned,” she added. “It’s really a great time to share with them.”
Fans can watch Rousey fight UFC legend Gina Carano on Netflix, May 16.
