KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Milligan University’s run in the AAC Tournament ended Thursday afternoon with an 11-8 loss to No. 2 seed Reinhardt University.

Seeking to repeat their previous upset win, the Buffaloes jumped to an immediate lead in the first inning when Haley Vigil scored following a bunt and a throwing error.

Milligan exploded for five more runs in the second, fueled by a Mollie Johnson RBI double, a Lily Frazier bunt single, and a two-run knock from Alama Parsons to build a 6-0 cushion.

However, Reinhardt began chipping away with two runs in both the second and fourth innings. The game shifted decisively in the bottom of the fifth when the Eagles erupted for seven runs on six hits and a costly error, turning their deficit into an 11-6 lead.

Milligan attempted a late rally in the seventh as Vigil doubled and Oler drove in a run, followed by a Parsons RBI single to cut the lead to three. The comeback fell short, concluding Milligan’s season at 22-22.

Parsons led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Bree Presnell returned to the circle late in the game after a difficult fifth-inning pitching change.

Despite the loss, the Buffaloes head into the offseason looking to build on their tournament momentum for the 2027 campaign.
