• Freightos CMO Eytan Buchman announces departure after 13 years, following earlier exit of founder and CEO Zvi Schreiber amid strategic differences with the board

• Pablo Pinillos has been appointed CEO of Freightos, targeting breakeven in Q4 2026 while focusing on platform growth and digital freight expansion

Eytan Buchman, Chief Marketing Officer at Freightos, has announced he is leaving the company after 13 years, reflecting on its growth and impact on the global freight industry.

The announcement was shared in a personal post on LinkedIn, where Buchman described his departure as coming “with a degree of gratitude that’s hard to articulate.”

He recalled joining Freightos in its early days, when founder Zvi Schreiber introduced him to “the basics of global freight – the world behind the curtain – and his vision to help airlines, ocean liners, freight companies, and importers price and book global freight.”

Since then, the company has grown into a major digital freight platform. “Last year, many thousands of businesses around the world booked well over a billion dollar in shipments on our platform,” Buchman noted. He also highlighted Freightos’ industry presence, stating that the company has appeared “on the White House press podium” and become “a daily fixture on our customers’ screens.”

His departure follows earlier leadership changes at Freightos. In February 2026, founder and CEO Zvi Schreiber stepped down after 14 years, citing differences with the board regarding the company’s future direction.

In March, the company confirmed the appointment of Pablo Pinillos as Chief Executive Officer. Having previously served as CFO and interim CEO, Pinillos said his focus will be on “disciplined execution” and achieving financial breakeven by the fourth quarter of 2026, while continuing to expand Freightos’ digital platform across global freight.

Buchman thanked Schreiber and colleagues, adding: “When you combine outstanding people with an outstanding mission, it’s only natural that outstanding things happen.”

Describing himself as “a marketing tourist in the world of freight,” he said he had been “privileged to discover a world of hard-working and curious professionals who share freely, lift each other up, and keep the world ticking behind the scenes.” Buchman concluded that after more than a decade with the company, it is now “time for a month of deep belly breaths.”

Leadership shifts are also taking place across the wider air cargo technology sector. In January, CHAMP Cargosystems appointed Manuel Galindo as chief executive, succeeding Chris McDermott. Galindo, a co-founder of WebCargo by Freightos, has been tasked with strengthening digital platforms and interoperability as the industry faces increasing pressure to improve efficiency.
