Two UCLA stars are making a strong case for themselves to win Big Ten Player of the Year this season.

Rather than decide between two of the best players in NCAA softball history, Big Ten Network’s Sydney Supple is suggesting the conference crown Bruin seniors Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery as Co-Big Ten Players of the Year.

“We should have a Co-Big Ten Player of the Year,” Supple said on the Big Ten Network on Wednesday. “The best to ever do it in the Bruin uniform, Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery. They came in as just wide-eyed freshmen, and they’re going to leave as the best duo we’ve ever seen in our sport.”

Grant and Woolery became the first teammates to each hit 30+ home runs in a single season in NCAA history on April 18. They were also named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25 Finalists for the second year in a row on Thursday.

Woolery is also on track to become the first player in NCAA history to finish the season with 30+ home runs, 100+ RBIs and at least a .500 batting average. Meanwhile, Grant leads the nation in slugging percentage (1.350) and on-base percentage (.646) and ranks second in home runs (34).

Both players earned AUSL Golden Tickets on April 19.

Bruins Have Tough Competition for the Award

Grant and Woolery are two of several superstars in the Big Ten this season.

In addition to the Bruins, defending Big Ten Player of the Year and Nebraska pitcher Jordy Frahm is also a contender to win the award. Frahm became the first player in conference history to win Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year in the same season in 2025.

Frahm has earned three Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors this season, while Woolery leads the conference with four Big Ten Player of the Week selections in 2026.

UCLA has its final conference series of the regular season against Oregon, which features conference stars in utility Elon Butler and infielder Rylee McCoy. After the series, the Bruins will begin the Big Ten Tournament on May 6 in College Park, Maryland.
