One of the top quarterback prospects in the 2027 class is heading to South Bend.

On Friday, four-star quarterback Champ "Wonderful" Monds IV committed to Notre Dame. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound signal-caller from Vero Beach, Florida, chose the Fighting Irish over Ohio State and Florida State.

Monds ranks as the No. 264 player nationally and No. 20 quarterback in the class. He was originally the No. 1-ranked signal-caller and the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2028 class, but he opted to reclassify and is set to graduate high school early.

Now, he's set to join the Fighting Irish in 2027 and may have to sit behind CJ Carr for a year.

Monds becomes the 12th commit in a Notre Dame recruiting class that features three top-100 players and currently ranks No. 6 in the nation.
