Georgia Bulldogs tight end Oscar Delp was selected by the New Orleans Saints at the 2026 NFL draft. Delp's selection surprised a few experts, but he is a promising tight end with excellent speed and athleticism. The former Georgia star could emerge with a consistent role on the Saints’ offense in 2026.

At 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, Delp has good size and was solid during his four year career at Georgia. The former Bulldog was selected with the No. 73 overall pick in the third round. Delp had reportedly been on New Orleans’ radar prior to draft night. The tight end is projected to open the 2026 campaign as the Saints’ third- or fourth-string option, as Delp may have been a reach in the third round according to PFF.com.

"Delp is an intriguing athlete with a high-effort play style that should get him drafted," Pro Football Focus said. PFF warns that Delp's "limited receiving impact and lack of feel" could be a reason why he does not make a major impact as a rookie.

Delp recorded 261 yards and one touchdown during his final season in Athens. The talented tight end was listed as the No. 215 overall prospect according to PFF’s big booard, as Delp could have remained available for longer if New Orleans didn’t select him in the third round. Delp will more than likely make an impact on the Saints’ offense in 2026 and could work his way up the depth chart, as the former Bulldog will look to shine in the NFL.

The Saints also selected Georgia DL Christen Miller in the second round prior to drafting Delp with their next pick. The Bulldogs had eight former players get drafted last weekend, as the Dawgs continue to produce elite NFL talent on a yearly basis.
