Tottenham Hotspur do not play football until Sunday afternoon (or evening if you’re in the UK). But there’s still reason enough to watch today’s slate of Premier League football matches today — and that’s because of West Ham.
No, normally I would never suggest that you sit down and watch a West Ham match under any circumstances. But this one is different — West Ham play away at Brentford, and a Hammers loss combined with a Tottenham win over a Aston Villa side that could heavily rotate to save legs for the second leg of the Europa League semifinals would sent Spurs out of relegation zone and a point above West Ham. The Hammers don’t have a particularly good recent record against Brentford either — they’ve won just two out of their last 10 Premier League encounters.
Well, too bad because we all need glimmers of hope to cling to, and this is a pretty big glimmer. Oh, also Arsenal play Fulham and wouldn’t it be nice if Marco Silva did us a solid there too?
This is your open thread. Glimmer away!
