Is Tanner Arkin the best undrafted free agent that the New England Patriots signed after the 2026 NFL Draft?

According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, Arkin has the best chance to make the Patriots’ 53-man roster out of all of the UDFA signees that the team brought on following the conclusion of the draft.

"Expect Arkin to compete with free-agent addition Julian Hill for a depth spot behind starter Hunter Henry and rookie third-round pick Eli Raridon," Knox said. "His blocking prowess may force the Patriots to keep four tight ends on the active roster after only keeping three in 2025."

Arkin went for 114 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in 2025 at Illinois. The Colorado native only recorded 13 receptions last season, but is recognized for his blocking abilities.

The Patriots signed Arkin to a three-year, $3.1 million deal in the undrafted free agent market. His contract included $272,500 in guaranteed money. Arkin will get the opportunity to earn his spot on the Patriots' final roster for next season.
