The Philadelphia Phillies suffered their first loss since making a major change when they were shutout by the Miami Marlins on Saturday.

Though the team needs every win it can get if it hopes to turn its disappointing early season record around, the Phillies do still have some reason for optimism after replacing long-time manager Rob Thomson with bench coach Don Mattingly last week.

Since Mattingly took over, the Phillies are 4-1, with beleaguered infielder Alec Bohm enjoying a particularly encouraging game against the San Francisco Giants that included a key diving catch and a walk-off sacrifice fly in extra innings.

“For Bohm, both the defensive and offensive plays are something he hopes can spark a turnaround in his season,” The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Scott Lauber wrote. “The third baseman has been in a deep slump to start the year, with a .151 batting average and .426 OPS through 29 games. Throughout his offensive struggles, he has dropped to sixth in the Phillies’ order after being a mainstay in the cleanup spot last year.”

Philadelphia Phillies’ Alec Bohm Gets Update On Lawsuit With Parents

Bohm’s struggles on the diamond this season have come alongside some controversy off the field after he filed a lawsuit against his parents regarding their management of his earnings. And following the latest update in that legal dispute, fans have noted that his famous girlfriend has surfaced in court documents.

Court documents filed by Bohm’s parents this week detailed that Bohm’s girlfriend flagged an issue with living in a property that was technically owned by an LLC set up by his parents.

“Bohm arrived at his Texas property in October 2025, the documents allege, just as his parents were planning to return to Florida,” Charlotte Varnes reported for The Athletic. “He allegedly said his girlfriend was planning to move in, and she felt uncomfortable living in a house owned by Next Level LLC that in turn was ‘controlled’ by his parents.”

Philadelphia Phillies’ Alec Bohm Might Have Been Encouraged By Girlfriend Erin Dolan In Lawsuit Against Parents

Bohm has been publicly dating ESPN sports betting analyst Erin Dolan since early last year and the latest court documents immediately embroiled the broadcaster in the lawsuit, as fans connected the timeline to his high-profile relationship.

“In hindsight, the timing of all this makes a lot more sense, because Bohm started dating Erin Dolan in early 2025, and because she works for ESPN as an on-air figure, she probably has an agent, manager, financial planner, etc. and could immediately say to him ‘None of this makes any sense at all,’” one user on Reddit wrote, pointing to a common theory about Dolan’s likely issues with living in a property technically owned by Bohm’s parents through an LLC.

As Bohm and the Phillies look to turn their season around, it seems he has a prolonged legal battle with his parents ahead. And now it also looks like Dolan has become involved as well, at least for some of those fans who are watching the off-field updates closely.
