The Calvary Baptist Academy [Shreveport, LA] Cavaliers will be playing for Louisiana's LHSAA Select Division III state championship Sunday afternoon.
They might also be playing for a national title as they enter the game ranked No. 2 in the latest MaxPreps national rankings.
They need to win the state title first to have a chance at the national accolades that likely won't be known for several weeks. The Cavaliers are ranked behind the Barbers Hills [Mt. Belieu, TX] Eagles for now, and the Texas playoffs won't be resolved for several more weeks.
The championship game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but inclement weather in Louisiana pushed the whole state tournament back a day. First pitch for the championship game is now set for 1 p.m. EST/12 p.m. CST local.
