Boston Celtics fans thought they were having hallucinations when they saw head coach Joe Mazzulla's truly inexplicable starting lineup in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The starting lineup, which had never started a game together, included Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Ron Harper Jr., Luka Garza and Baylor Scheierman.
Harper, Garza and Scheierman worked together to accomplish something no other starting lineup in the history of the NBA could: the Celtics became the first team in postseason history to have three starters score zero points.
Harper made just the 4th start of his career in Game 7. For Garza, it was start number 7 of the season. Scheierman, who is the youngest of the bunch, actually had the most career starts going into the must-win game with 20.
If there was ever a starting lineup to set this record, it was this one.
Nikola Vucevic, who is nearing 1,000 career starts and was the Celtics big trade deadline acquisition, did not play a single minute in Game 7. The 35-year-old center averaged 19.2 minutes per game in the first six, including 31 minutes in the Game 3 victory.
