NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) – The Illinois State Redbird baseball team crossed the 30-win threshold with a 9-4 victory Sunday afternoon over Valpo to sweep the series.

The sweep also came on Senior Day for ISU and handed themselves their 8th straight win.

Michael Carrano Jr. went 3-5 with a pair of RBIs in the contest and catcher Nolan Berry also drove in two runs on two hits.

Redshirt freshman pitcher Teschke picked up the win with no earned runs allowed in five innings on the mound. He also recorded four strikeouts.

It is the Redbirds’ second 30-win season in the past three years and their third overall since 2019.
