Chipotle has never been one to drop its prices or offer value meals in response to customers struggling with the higher cost of everything (including its food); instead, it’s preferred to raise its prices, leaving people pretty annoyed, to say the least. That said, this year, it has been trying to figure out where it can provide value without doing a full-scale revamp of its price model. Perhaps the biggest move it’s made in this direction has been to launch a happy hour, which it first began teasing at the start of 2026.

Well, that happy hour is now here, albeit in test form. Introducing “Power Up at Chipotle,” which is currently running at select locations. We’ve got the lowdown.

Power Up…With Tacos

Power Up at Chipotle is, for all intents and purposes, the restaurant’s version of a value menu – but the difference is that it only runs at select times. From 2 to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, customers can get any taco with any protein for $2.50. Bear in mind that this offer only applies to its standard tacos, without any extras, including guacamole or queso blanco. It does, though, include its Chipotle Honey Chicken, which has returned for another year.

Chipotle said to People that “The offering is perfect for a snack after school, before practice, between classes, or as a midday meet-up with friends.” In opting for a mid-afternoon slot for this happy hour (or, we should say, this happy trio of hours), it’s kept things safely away from the evening rush. Will it limit the appeal of this offer, though? Time will tell. The restaurant has said that it would “listen, test and learn from customer feedback” before it made a decision on expanding this offer nationwide, so its ultimate future is not yet decided. We guess it all depends on how well this one hits.

Where Is Chipotle’s Happy Hour Currently Running?

Well, if you live in Kansas, Missouri, or Florida, and you’re a fan of afternoon tacos, you’ll probably be pretty pleased. The chain is currently testing Power Up at Chipotle in dozens of locations across the three states, and Florida in particular looks very well catered for. You can find the full list of restaurants running it at the link above. Anyone else, though, will have to wait and see whether Chipotle will take this offer across the country.

If you do live close to a store that’s offering it, Power Up at Chipotle only runs through June 2, so you’ve got about a month to take advantage of all the lower-price tacos you can muster before it snatches this one away. If you’re a teacher or a healthcare worker, though, Chipotle is currently offering the chance to win a load of gift cards that you can redeem for free burritos, and that one’s available to anyone around the country. You’ve got until May 12 to enter the prize draw.
