The softball team continued to roll with a sweep of Penn State which clinched the conference regular season title. The ladies are about to start the Big Ten tournament as the #1 seed and their first game will be on Thursday. It seems all but announced that they will be a regional host once the NCAA tournament field is set. Hosting a super regional is in play if they make it that far and continue to dominate opponents.

Then there’s baseball. I wish I could block it out of my memory, but the men got swept by a middling Ohio State team that they should have at least taken the series from. They rose as high as 10 in the RPI earlier in the week but are now down to 18 with chances of hosting a regional much less likely. This is actually an improvement – most seasons have more than one heartbreaking weekend like this. This year, the team has done so well that this is the only really disappointing series they’ve played. I guess my standards as a fan go up very quickly…

Plus, it is finals week for the college where I work. It is always fun to see all the final presentations, portfolios, and graduation. Okay world, you get them now. We did our best.
