Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has laid off a “small portion” of its workforce in non-direct patient care roles, a system spokesperson said in a May 4 statement shared with Becker’s.

“We are supporting affected colleagues and, where possible, helping connect them with other opportunities within and outside of HCA Healthcare,” the statement said.

The health system is continuing to recruit and hire for various clinical and nonclinical U.S. roles to support patient care.

HCA is a 190-hospital, for-profit system that reported $75.6 billion in revenue in 2025.

Becker’s has reached out to HCA  regarding the number of employees affected and will update this story should more information become available.
