Real Madrid head coach Álvaro Arbeloa has provided his take on the latest drama surrounding the name of star frontman Kylian Mbappé.
This comes amid a headline-grabbing last couple of days for the Frenchman in Spain.
Frontman Mbappé is for his part currently condemned to a spell on the sidelines, owing to a muscular injury.
The former Paris Saint-Germain standout therefore made use of the opportunity to enjoy a vacation away from Madrid, with his partner last week.
Safe to say, however, that the trip did not go down at all well amongst those of a Real Madrid persuasion…
With their side headed for another trophyless season, and still smarting from a devastating Champions League exit, Mbappé being photographed living it up on a yacht was labelled by many as disrespectful and in poor taste.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s 2-0 La Liga downing of Espanyol on Sunday night, the aforementioned Álvaro Arbeloa was therefore drawn on the situation.
And the tactician made use of the opportunity to defend his leading goalscorer, assuring:
“All the injured players are monitored and the medical staff plan everything. In his free time, any player can does what he wants. I don’t get involved.”
