Jon Rahm endured a really challenging week at Augusta National and ended up finishing in a tie for 38th at The Masters.

Rahm has been on fire during the LIV Golf season so far.

The 31-year-old has two wins and three runner-ups to his name in just six starts, as well as a fifth-place finish.

However, Rahm‘s poor performance at The Masters will have really hurt his confidence.

At Augusta National, the two-time major winner looked like a shadow of the player we’ve seen this season on LIV.

Rahm has earned astronomical amounts of money since his move to LIV Golf, but he would have probably swapped all of that for another win at Augusta National two weeks ago.

Rahm’s Masters nightmare would have stung, but he bounced back very well with a dominant win at LIV Golf Mexico City.

After his win at LIV Mexico on Sunday, the 32-year-old was asked about the state of his game right now.

It was put to Rahm that perhaps something clicked before his final round 68 at Augusta National eight days ago.

“Yeah, yeah,“ the Spaniard admitted.

“Adam (Rahm’s caddie) and I nearly got in a heated argument on Saturday on the putting green at Augusta when he was trying to explain something and I wasn’t fully understanding.

“Once it clicked what he was trying to say and what I needed to work on on that range session Saturday afternoon, it was so much better. Sunday at Augusta I played much better golf, and it’s only gotten a little bit easier since then.

“But it’s not always the easiest to have a swing thought while playing, but this one obviously seemed to work out.

Jon Rahm’s verdict on his game

Rahm was asked in Mexico whether his game right now is as complete as it has ever been before.

“I was aware I was hitting it really well,“ Rahm responded.

“Especially some of the tighter holes like 11, I hit the fairway every single day, hit the fairway pretty much every day on 13. I don’t think at all this week I was ever in a position where I didn’t have a shot to the green.

“Now, granted, that’s a little bit of luck sometimes with the trees, but I did a really good job off the tee at always giving myself a shot and never having to really be overly defensive.

“I knew it was good. Obviously I didn’t know it was that good.

“As far as the game goes, I would say no. If you had told me last Thursday I was going to win by six this week, I would say you’re crazy because it felt horrible. Last week wasn’t great until Sunday.

“Seemed to have found something that can work, but still needs to get a little bit more refined to say that it’s complete. A little bit too much thought, if you will, when it comes to the swing that I would like, but obviously today it was pretty good.“
