Steven Hanks, MD, president and CEO of Trinity Health New York, is assuming expanded system leadership responsibilities that include Hartford, Conn-based Trinity Health of New England.

Montez Carter will continue to serve as president and CEO of Trinity Health of New England, reporting to Dr. Hanks, a health system spokesperson said in an April 20 statement shared with Becker’s.

“This decision reflects a genuine commitment to our colleagues, our patients, and the communities we serve,” Trinity Health COO Dan Roth, MD, said in the statement. “Adding Dr. Hanks’ leadership is a deliberate and positive investment in Trinity Health Of New England’s future. His goal is to strengthen performance and understand what is needed for future growth to deliver the exceptional care your communities deserve.”

Dr. Hanks most recently led the integration of the system’s New York ministries into a single coordinated system, advancing access to care and clinical alignment, the statement said.

“Having worked with Dr. Hanks, I have seen his passion for high-quality care firsthand,” Mr. Carter said in the statement. “We have a dedicated team here and I am confident his leadership will help us go further even faster.”

Trinity Health of New England and Trinity Health New York operate as separate entities and are both part of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health.
