British Airways has started to send emails to members that their tier with The Club has been retained for another year, and here’s the kicker, without even crediting a single flight to the program in the past 12 months.

British Airways had a disastrous program refresh that they unveiled between Christmas and the New Year in 2024 that went live, tellingly, on April Fool’s Day in 2025.

BA has reintroduced various bonuses to make the new “The Club” more resemble the old one, which is a clear admission that the rollout was nothing but an utter failure.

The fact that they are now extending membership tiers to those who have not even credited a single flight just demonstrates how desperate their loyalty department is to keep elite membership numbers at the previous level (probably to hit bonus targets).

I “exited” The Club last year and made a lifetime Gold with BA before the program was essentially “trashed” for anyone other than those flying on other people’s money.

It is just sad to see how incompetent the loyalty departments at BA and IAG are if they didn’t see this pushback from members, and now they are basically REMOVED in their pants and just rolling tiers by 12 months.
