Qatar Airways has significantly increased its passenger flights over the past five weeks after grounding them entirely at the beginning of the Iran War, which is now, at least theoretically, “paused”.
The airline began increasing its flight activity on March 18. It will operate roughly 145 departing passenger flights ex-Doha this Friday (April 24, 2026), a significant increase compared with the average over the past 7 days.

Gulf Air Travel Rebound per Flightradar24:
Note that there are more flights in the FlightRadar24 data above, but it also includes likely freighter and fifth-freedom flights that are not captured by ex-Doha passenger departure numbers, which have now been rather stable for a week.
Conclusion
There was a significant increase in Qatar Airways operations starting April 1st, another significant jump on Wednesday (April 8), and a third on Thursday (April 16), as captured by the Flightradar chart above.
Qatar Airways is at roughly 60% of its pre-Iran War schedule, compared to roughly 70% for both Emirates and Etihad.
Let’s see how long it will take Qatar Airways to match Emirates’ and Etihad’s current flight activity, in terms of pre-Iran War numbers, now that a ceasefire is in place. At least they are still restoring services to existing destinations, as noted above.
