I was in touch with the reader, who then added:

The hotel here plays by the rule 100%, but does this make any financial sense for them?

The reader could have booked just one room with three guests, and all three people in that one room would have been eligible for access.

Conclusion

I stayed at this hotel once a long time back, and two guests were eligible for the lounge access (me and a friend), and they put on the “show” at the club lounge just for two of us.

There are sometimes communication and understanding issues at hotels in Vietnam, and I feel that common sense is lost at times.

Why penalize the guest for booking two rooms instead of one when the hotel collects more cash this way? The hotel here followed the rules to the letter, however.

I just wanted to post this so that readers who travel with their kids take it into account.

Perhaps there are reasonably priced suites with two bedrooms that would then grant the lounge access to every registered guest
