Highland single malt Scotch whisky brand Fettercairn has partnered with EVERRICH Duty Free to unveil an exclusive pop-up at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2.

Running from 1 January to 30 June, the activation forms part of Fettercairn’s and brand owner Whyte & Mackay’s wider strategy to enhance engagement, premiumisation, awareness and conversion in Asia Pacific travel retail.

The pop-up showcases Fettercairn’s travel retail-exclusive collection, including the 14, 17 and 25 Year Old expressions. These are highlighted alongside the Rare & Aged range featuring 28, 40 and 50 Year Old bottlings.

The collection, introduced during the distillery’s bicentennial celebrations in 2024, highlights the house’s tropical flavour profile across different maturations. All expressions are non-chill filtered, presented in natural colour and offered in a 70cl format.

For over 200 years, the Fettercairn distillery has been located within the heart of a thriving agricultural community in Aberdeenshire; a region known as the Garden of Scotland. Located at the foothills of the Cairngorm mountains, fertile land, lush forests and crystal-clear water come together to create Fettercairn’s distinctive whisky.

The 18.85sq m pop-up brings the brand’s Garden of Scotland concept to life and celebrates its Highland origins. The activation, located in a high-traffic area adjacent to the terminal’s luxury retail zone, translates this Scottish sense of place into the airport.

Copper structures featuring flora and fauna motifs portray the relationship between the distillery and its natural surroundings. A central concave copper still frames the brand’s single malt range, referencing Fettercairn’s distinctive copper cooling ring technology

This process uses cool mountain water from the Cairngorms to temper the stills, allowing only lighter vapours to rise and contributing to the brand’s signature bright, tropical character.

A programme of guided tastings featuring the 14 Year Old and 17 Year Old expressions is central to the activation. In addition, a dedicated sensory display encourages discovery, presenting aromatic cues such as dried pineapple, coconut and mango to illustrate the whisky’s tropical profile.

EVERRICH Duty Free Vice President of Merchandising Patricia Wang commented, “We are delighted to partner with Fettercairn at Taiwan Airport to launch this exclusive pop-up, offering travellers a fresh premium whisky experience.

“Beyond retail, EVERRICH leverages category insight and selection expertise to curate immersive journeys. As demand for limited-edition and collectible whiskies grows in Taiwan, we work with leading distilleries to identify distinctive expressions that reflect evolving traveller preferences.

“Together, we have created a retail destination that celebrates craftsmanship, innovation and the unique story behind the Fettercairn brand.”

Whyte & Mackay Managing Director UK, Europe & GTR Mike Greggs added, “We are proud to bring this new Garden of Scotland pop-up concept to Taiwan in partnership with EVERRICH, and to introduce travellers to the distinctive character of Fettercairn in such an engaging way.

“Taiwan is an important and dynamic market for premium Scotch whisky, and this activation allows us to strengthen brand visibility while creating meaningful connections with shoppers through storytelling and sense of place.

“By combining education, tasting and immersive design, we aim to build lasting awareness of the Fettercairn portfolio and drive further growth for the brand in the region.”

Fettercairn Distillery Manager Stewart Walker added, “At Fettercairn we are very proud of our local area and the produce that comes from this beautiful part of Scotland.

“I believe that the area is a true inspiration for us at the Distillery, and I want every bottle of Fettercairn – wherever in the world it is sold – to tell the story and paint a picture of where it was created in the Garden of Scotland.”
