The winner of last week’s Softball Player of the Week poll was New Bedford’s Brylee DeDeus. She had more than 10,000 votes (32%) to receive the honor.

DeDeus had a combined 3 hits in two games.

Previous winners were GNB Voc-Tech’s Leah Perez and Old Colony’s Abby Norton.

The winner of the Preseason Softball Player of the Year poll was Old Colony’s Madison Canton with more than 10,000 votes (50%).

Kate Suneson, Apponequet

In two games, Sunesen went a combined 3-for-7 with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

Reese Taylor, Apponequet

Taylor pitched a pair of complete-game victories over Dighton-Rehoboth and West Bridgewater, allowing a combined 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits and 2 walks with 28 strikeouts. She also went a combined 3-for-6 at the plate with 2 walks, an RBI and 3 runs scored.

Sybil Zuber, Apponequet

Zuber went a combined 4-for-6 with a home run, 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored in a pair of games.

Jillian Dubois, Dartmouth

Against Old Rochester, Dubois had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.

Abby Lancaster, Dartmouth

Lancaster had 3 hits and 2 RBIs against Old Rochester

Emma Silva, Dartmouth

Silva went 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI in a win over Old Rochester.

Addy Thomas, Dartmouth

Thomas picked up the win over Old Rochester, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 3 walks with 5 strikeouts over 6 innings. She went 6 innings against Fairhaven, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk with 3 strikeouts. She also had an RBI against the Blue Devils.

Violet Marques, Fairhaven

In a pair of games against Dartmouth and Diman, Marques went a combined 5-for-7 with 3 RBIs.

Brianna Pierce, Fairhaven

Pierce allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts in a win over Dartmouth. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. In a win over Diman, she struck out 10 while allowing 2 hits for the shutout. At the plate, she went 3-for-3 with a double and RBI. In a loss to Voc-Tech Pierce went the distance, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks with 7 strikeouts.

Stella Zangao, Fairhaven

In a win over Dartmouth, Zanago blasted a 2-run home run. She went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs.

Softball: Vazquez throws no-hitter, hits homer for GNB Voc-Tech

Brielle Douglas, GNB Voc-Tech

Douglas hit her first varsity home run — a 2-run shot — in a win over Fairhaven.

Khloe Pereira, GNB Voc-Tech

In two games against Old Rochester and Fairhaven, Pereira went a combined 5-for-7 with 3 home runs and 3 RBIs.

Ryleigh Reis, GNB Voc-Tech

Reis went the distance against Old Rochester, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits and 5 walks for her first varsity win on the mound.

Akiira’Ley Vazquez, GNB Voc-Tech

In a win over Fairhaven, Vazquez not only hit a home run, she threw a no-hitter with a school-record 17 strikeouts. Against Old Rochester, Vazquez was 2-for-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs.

Paige Borges, Old Colony

Borges pitched a complete-game win over Bourne, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits and 4 walks with 7 strikeouts.

Madison Caton, Old Colony

Caton went 2-for-3 against Bourne with a double, walk, stolen base, 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs.
