UChicago Medicine plans to deploy a large-scale digital infrastructure platform across its facilities through a new agreement with healthcare technology company Artisight.
Under the agreement, the health system will bring Artisight’s Smart Hospital Platform to multiple care settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms and post-anesthesia care units. The rollout will involve more than 1,800 devices and extend to UChicago Medicine’s new 575,000-square-foot cancer care facility, which is scheduled to open in April 2027.
The platform combines technologies such as computer vision, voice recognition and real-time location services to provide continuous monitoring and operational awareness. It is designed to support functions including virtual nursing, patient observation, workflow automation and infusion monitoring while also enabling real-time visibility and automated documentation in surgical and recovery settings, according to an April 28 news release.
