UPMC Washington (Pa.) has rolled out a new inpatient tele-neurosurgery consultation service.
As part of this service, UPMC neurosurgery specialists can connect with hospitalized patients with spine or intracranial conditions and work alongside their hospital care team at the patient’s bedside. This service allows hospital teams to consult with advanced practice providers specializing in neurosurgery via video and doesn’t require patient transfers solely for consultation purposes, according to an April 27 news release.
