Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Health System has named Richard Dabruzzo vice president of business development, effective May 1.

Mr. Dabruzzo comes to the health system with more than 20 years of experience in physician network development, strategic planning, and practice integration, according to an April 28 news release. He joins WVU Medicine from Pittsburgh-based St. Clair Health, where he served as vice president of physician network development. He previously spent 14 years at Pittsburgh-based UPMC in multiple leadership roles.

In his new role, Mr. Dabruzzo will work to identify new business opportunities, advance strategic partnerships and support the growth of clinically integrated networks of care across service areas, according to the release. He will also collaborate with the system medical group and University Health Associates to support the integration and development of physician practices.

“My goal is to provide executive leadership that identifies and advances strategic growth opportunities that strengthens WVU Medicine’s clinical services and market presence,” he said in the release.
