Charleston, S.C.-based Medical University of South Carolina has entered a five-year strategic partnership with Revival Healthcare Capital aimed at accelerating the development and clinical advancement of new medical technologies.

The collaboration is designed to create a scalable model that enables rapid launch of project-specific initiatives focused on evaluating and advancing next-generation medical devices.

Under the agreement, clinicians and subject-matter experts at the Medical University of South Carolina may provide clinical and procedural insight to support the evaluation of technologies aligned with Revival Healthcare Capital’s investment strategy. Leaders at the Medical University of South Carolina may also serve as advisors to companies within Revival Healthcare Capital’s portfolio, offering clinical validation and a health system perspective to help speed product development.

The partnership is also intended to support the Medical University of South Carolina’s broader innovation efforts by connecting scientific discovery and clinical expertise with capital and operational resources. It creates a pathway for Revival Healthcare Capital to assess select medical device opportunities originating from the Medical University of South Carolina, with the potential to support later-stage development, according to an April 29 news release.
