The American Hospital Association and the West Health Institute are launching a three-year initiative to help hospitals scale technology-driven solutions to improve care delivery.

Here are four things to know about the initiative:

• The effort, called the West Health Accelerator at the AHA’s Health Research & Educational Trust, is backed by a $12 million commitment from West Health and will focus on expanding the use of technologies that have already demonstrated effectiveness.

• The program will prioritize electronic health record optimization, virtual care and artificial intelligence integration, according to an April 29 news release.

• Participating organizations will gain access to a digital platform featuring vetted, ready-to-deploy solutions, along with implementation support and guidance from experts at both organizations.

• The program also includes peer learning opportunities and a network of hospitals that will serve as national models by sharing their experiences adopting and scaling technology-enabled care.
