Boston pitcher Garrett Crochet (3-3) was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to left shoulder inflammation, retroactive to Sunday.

The Red Sox completed a three-game series at Toronto on Wednesday.

"Just some fatigue I was feeling in my last start,” Crochet said from his locker in the visitors’ clubhouse at Toronto. “I was able to grind through it there at the end, but it makes more sense to get ahead of now, so I’m not playing catch-up the rest of the season."

Crochet has appeared in six games in 2026, recording 37 strikeouts and a 6.30 ERA in 30 innings.

He played at Tennessee from 2018-20. The former Vol was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 MLB draft (No. 11 overall).

Chicago traded Crochet to the Red Sox on Dec. 13, 2024. He was traded for catcher Kyle Teel (No. 25 overall prospect), outfielder Braden Montgomery (No. 54 overall), infielder Chase Meidroth (Boston's No. 11 prospect) and Wikelman Gonzalez (Boston's No. 14 prospect).
