As we are still months away from the start of the 2026-27 college basketball season, the North Carolina Tar Heels are working towards building their roster.

Under new head coach Michael Malone, North Carolina has already made some big additions in both the frontcourt and backcourt. Among those additions is former NC State guard Matt Able to committed to the program a few weeks back.

Able has yet to officially sign, all signs point to him still doing that, but on Friday, he received some news about his future as well. He was one of 73 players invited to the NBA Draft Scouting Combine in Chicago.

Both Henri Veesaar and Caleb Wilson were also on the invite list as well, marking the two former UNC players to be invited.

The combine will take place May 10-17 and will give players the chance to impress in front of scouts. It's a good chance to get some feedback about their NBA plans as well. Being invited doesn't mean Able will go to the NBA Draft but it's valuable for him to get that feedback for his career.
