After drafting eight players and signing undrafted free agents, the Philadelphia Eagles have held two solid days of rookie minicamp, May 1-2. Along with the draft picks, the Eagles announced the signings of eight undrafted free agents and added defensive lineman Joshua Weru through the NFL's International Player Pathway program.

The move comes on Day 1 of rookie minicamp, and hours after the team signed six NFL draft picks. Among the headline UDFA additions is former Alabama linebacker Deontae Lawson, a three-year starter, two-time All-SEC selection, and team captain who led the Crimson Tide with 89 tackles last season. Lawson arrives with the experience and instincts to compete immediately for a role.

The Eagles also brought in Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright, a highly productive pass catcher who totaled 635 yards and five touchdowns while leading all FBS tight ends in yards after catch per reception. His combination of size and playmaking ability could make him a sleeper addition. In the secondary, Philadelphia added Washington State defensive back Tucker Large, Ole Miss defensive back Kapena Gushiken, and Wofford All-American Maximus Pulley, all of whom bring experience and production at the collegiate level.

Special teams also received attention with the signing of Florida long snapper Rocco Underwood, widely regarded as one of the top specialists in the nation and a candidate to make the 53-man roster, while the class is rounded out by additional depth pieces, including Jaeden Roberts. With a blend of high-upside athletes and decorated college performers, the Eagles' 2026 undrafted free agent group reflects a strategic approach to post-draft roster building.

The rookies will integrate into the off-season workouts, and the whole team won't be on the field together again until OTAs begin later this month. The Eagles' OTA days: May 26-27, May 29, June 1-2, June 4.

They also have a mandatory minicamp June 9-10.

Before practice, six of the Eagles' eight draft picks signed their rookie contracts: WR Makai Lemon, OG Micah Morris, S Cole Wisniewski, DT Uar Bernard, and OLB Keyshawn James-Newby.
