All-MW Teams post-spring
Chris Murray takes a shot at compiling an all-conference team following spring practices for most teams. There are many familiar faces, with Micah Alejado, Jai’Den Thomas, Pofele Ashlock, Jack Foster, Dylan LaBarbera, and Jaxton Eck all named in the first team. Some other interesting first-teamers include: TE Cade Keith of New Mexico, WR DeAree Rogers from NIU, DL Keenan Wilson from North Dakota State, and DB Roger Jones, Jr out of Air Force. There is still a fair amount of talent in the conference.
The Aztecs with spring scrimmage.
San Diego State closed out spring practices with their spring game over the weekend. Like all spring games, there were reasons for optimism, but looming questions still remain. Coach Lewis echoed those sentiments, stating he was pleased with the growth, but acknowledged there was still a long way to go. Many returning key players had strong outings, but some new names did as well. True freshman WR Derek Stevenson had a TD pass, but also a big drop, while EDGE Brady Nassar came up with an interception. Another true freshman, Alijah Lash, was tied for the team-high in tackles with 6.
