The NASCAR Cup Series competed at Texas Motor Speedway, and it was almost a race of survival. Christopher Bell was wrecked from the lead near the end of Stage 1, while Joey Logano had to retire after a pit road incident. At the end of the day, a Hendrick Motorsports driver claimed a popular victory on Sunday.
Chase Elliott and the No. 9 team for Hendrick Motorsports won the Würth 400 at Texas, earning their second victory of the 2026 Cup Series season. Elliott was able to hold off Denny Hamlin in a late restart, but the No. 9 car was elite in the second half of the race. The Hendrick Motorsports competitor led the most laps after winning Stage 2.
Elliott has been one of the best Cup Series drivers during the 2026 NASCAR season, and Texas was an excellent example of the No. 9 team's potential. Elliott figures to compete for the regular-season championship, but he has a lot of ground to make up on 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick.
