Hilton has now amended its Honors program T&Cs and backdated them to Friday, April 24, 2026. Marriott made a similar change recently (read more here).

Hilton now promises to inform Chinese citizens living in Mainland China of any material changes to the Honors program, and that the laws in place in the Mainland apply to disputes between members and Hilton.

Conclusion

I guess it is a sign of the times that Honors members living in Mainland China have better legal protections against Hilton than those living in the US.

IMHO, it is good that Hilton is legally required to give members notice of significant program changes, but I wish this were a requirement outside of China as well.
