Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health broke ground April 28 on a new freestanding emergency department and urgent care facility in Marion, Ind.
Parkview Marion, which is expected to open in the fall of 2027, will offer 24/7 emergency care with urgent care services in a single, community-based setting, according to an April 28 news release shared with Becker’s.
Parkview Health could not disclose the project cost at this time.
The 28,000-square-foot facility will use an ER-urgent care model to improve care access while containing costs for patients. The ED will comprise 10 exam rooms, while the dedicated outpatient clinic wing will feature family medicine, imaging and lab services and specialty care across 19 exam rooms.
“Conditions that can be safely managed through urgent care will be billed accordingly — typically at a lower cost than emergency care — eliminating confusion for patients seeking walk-in treatment,” the release said. “Parkview first introduced this model with the opening of Parkview Southwest in 2023, where it has been well-received by patients.”
