Bakersfield (Calif.) Memorial Hospital will close the Grossman Burn Center June 30 due to “evolving community needs,” according to an April 1 public notice.

The hospital is part of San Francisco-based Dignity Health, a member of Chicago-based CommonSpirit.

The closure includes a 7-bed inpatient burn unit and an outpatient burn clinic.

“We are committed to a smooth patient transition and supporting our employees in finding new

opportunities within CommonSpirit Health or elsewhere,” the notice said.
