Whenever Pop-Tarts drops a new flavor, we’re usually all ears – and it shouldn’t be any shock that this prolific breakfast food brand has been very busy. It’s always busy. So far this year, we’ve seen its new Super Stuffed Pop-Tarts arrive on shelves, with mixed results if our taste test is anything to go by. Pop-Tarts is also leaning into the 250th anniversary of the US of A with a patriotic Star-Spangled Blueberry flavor (which are kind of a rehash of some previous flavors, but we digress).

It’s just decided, though, that it was time for a secret drop of a new Frosted Strawberry Cheesecake flavor. And we’re pleased to report that it sounds very good. Here’s what you need to know.

Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry Cheesecake

As @candyhunting says over on Instagram, Pop-Tarts’ new flavor has started to arrive in stores, after a couple of weeks of being teased on grocery apps through listings. So far, the Frosted Strawberry Cheesecake flavor has popped up in Pick n Save, and it’s also on the Kroger website – but it’s not a Kroger exclusive. It might just be that the chain and its associated stores have got their hands on them first, but it’s definitely being rolled out elsewhere and is listed on the Target website, although it’s currently sold out there.

The new Frosted Strawberry Cheesecake Pop-Tarts promise a filling of cheesecake-like goodness, with a frosted topping that has a strawberry swirl running right down the middle. As for how they taste…it’s a little early to get a wide variety of opinions on them, but we did spot what might be the first review in @candyhunting’s comment section. “I purchased. Not bad but not great. Good,” said the person who tried them. This is a mysteriously short reaction, but it gets straight to the point – and hey, at least they’re not awful, right?

Strawberry Cheesecake: The Flavor On Everyone’s Lips

It does seem like strawberry cheesecake flavor is seeing a renaissance this year (although let’s be real, it never really left). So far in 2026, Cinnabon has released a Strawberry Cheesecake Topped Bon, while Nothing Bundt Cakes has literally just put out a Strawberry Cheesecake Swirl flavor. For the avoidance of doubt, we loved the latter, but let’s be honest: We love pretty much all of Nothing Bundt Cakes’ flavors, so that was never really in question.

Pop-Tarts, though, is the first food company that we’ve seen that’s putting strawberry cheesecake flavors in toasty form. If you manage to get your hands on a pack, we wanna hear what you think.
